Huff Lake

Located in Oakland County, Michigan

Huff Lake is located in Brandon Township, about 45 miles out from Detroit.

For any medical needs, M15 urgent Care PC is only eight minutes away, and Pontiac General Hospital is about a 25-minute drive. The nearest airport is Bishop International, which is about a half-hour drive.

On the Water

While there are no records of what fish are in the area, Huff Lake is perfect if you’re looking for a quiet retreat from city life. Smaller boats are ideal for this lake as it is a smaller size of approximately 25 acres.

The lake is connected to Lake Louise via a small canal and can be crossed with boats. This lake is also completely private and has no public access.

This area is rural, but it’s not without its local, small-town charm. Several local restaurants are within a couple miles of this location, such as BullFrogs Bar and Grille — a local favorite.

If you ever get tired of watching the sunset from your own private lake and want a change of scenery, head 10 minutes down the road to Independence Oaks County Park. This gorgeous park has opportunities for boating, fishing, and trails for hiking and skiing in the winter.

About 15 minutes away, Ortonville Recreation Area is a beautiful park area with campgrounds, a lake for fishing, a beach, and equestrian trails. Right next to it, Ortonville Shooting Range is a local favorite if you want to hone your skills with firearms.
